Welcome to the temporary (and possibly permanent) online home of the Hangar Flight Museum library.

This online library system is a proof of concept experiment to gauge the feasibility of creating a library, both in-person and online for the Hangar Flight Museum, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Each year, the museum receives scores of book donations. This has resulted in an impressive collection of aviation themed publications which, until recently have been boxed up and stored away.

Not long ago, an initiative was started to assess the possibility of organizing and cataloging these volumes with the intention of creating a reference library available to anyone with an interest in aviation. 

This online public access catalogue (OPAC) is one aspect of that initiative. The software on which the bibliographic information currently resides is being evaluated to assess its suitability. If it proves satisfactory, then it may become the eventual home for the Hangar Flight Museum library.
